The Bervin Scholarship Honouring Residential School Children

This scholarship will support two Indigenous University of Winnipeg students as they pursue and excel in their chosen program. Each selected student’s gender must be different. To be eligible for this scholarship students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours. The grade requirement is competitive. Recipients of the Bervin Entrance Scholarship are eligible for the Bervin Scholarship.
This Scholarship was established by the Jewish son of Berdie and Irvin Cohen to honour the Indigenous sons and daughters who attended residential schools in Canada. It is intended to let the Indigenous people know they are not alone, and with some encouragement from friends they can improve their future. It is hoped that this scholarship will inspire current and future generations of Indigenous students to realize their unlimited potential.
