Dr. Randy Kobes Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student with a declared major in a science-related field. The successful candidate must demonstrate academic achievement and have made significant extra-curricular contributions in the community, either within the University or outside – especially in scientific literacy or outreach. Established in 2010 by family, friends, and colleagues in memory of Dr. Randy Kobes, Associate Dean of Science and Professor of Physics, this scholarship pays tribute to Dr. Kobes’s outstanding academic contributions as a physicist and educator at The University of Winnipeg. This award also honours Dr. Kobes’s extensive outreach activities, including the Let’s Talk Science and Eco-Kids programs, along with the development of a degree program in Science, Environment and Indigenous Knowledge.
