Orville Derraugh Memorial Prize in French

This prize is established by Tamara Bernstein, a student at The University of Winnipeg from 1976 to 1978, in memory of Orville Derraugh. Through his inspiring, imaginative, and rigorous teaching of French, English, and music, Orville Derraugh (B.A., United College, 1955) instilled a lifelong love of these subjects in countless young Winnipeggers. It will be awarded on the recommendation of the Department of French Studies for an outstanding essay submitted as part of a French literature course.
