Sherri Walsh and Louis Ludwig Daycare Bursary

This bursary will be awarded to a student who has received support from the Opportunity Fund and has a child, or children, in day-care. The purpose of this bursary is to assist with the costs of day-care, helping the student overcome the financial challenges they face in addition to tuition, books and school supplies. Recipients must demonstrate financial need. The family recognizes education as key to enabling full participation in society and sees the University as a centre for promoting dialogue, human rights and aptitude. Sherri’s involvement as a long-time Winnipeg Harvest volunteer as well as her work on the Phoenix Sinclair inquiry, and Louis’ career as a medical professional serving the inner-city population has impassioned them to help alleviate barriers which can impede pursuing an education.
