Hoops From The Heart Bursary

Established by the organizer of Hoops from the Heart, Dr. Grant Pierce, as well as the coaches of the Wesmen Basketball teams, this award will be given to a Wesmen Basketball player with financial need. Preference will be for a recipient who grew up in Winnipeg’s inner-city and/or who is Indigenous or Metis.

Hoops from the Heart is a program which began in 2008 and annually invites 150 inner-city youth onto the University campus to watch two basketball games and share the excitement of being part of a Wesmen team.
