Harold and Donalda (McDonald) Morton Memorial Scholarship

Created by the family of Donalda and Harold, this scholarship will be awarded to the student with the highest overall standing with a declared major in the Department of Women and Gender Studies and who has completed their first year. Preference will be given to a female student. Donalda graduated from The United College in 1941 and was the recipient of many academic honours and scholarships, earning a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and Mathematics. Donalda and Harold met at The United College and following the end of the war, they married. Donalda was a strong proponent for women’s rights as a member and tireless conference organizer for the Manitoba Action Committee on the Status of Women. This scholarship celebrates the spirit of Donalda’s passion in fighting for women in the workplace, and the love she shared with Harold, which began on campus.
